    Hi Reka!

I discovered you’re blog today and I must say: I fell in love for both it’s content and you’re amazing writing skills!
You can count me in for Dawn of the Guardian, and I wish you the best for your next travels.

    • dreamtimetraveler says:

      Bay,

Thank you so much for you kind thoughts! The next post will be coming soon! I wanted to share though that shortly I will post a special exclusive blog, that for the moment will only be for those who signed up to my Dawn of the Guardian list. This is of our journey to Andalusia Spain that inspired me to write the book. It will give a glimpse into the adventure and real characters that subsequently came to life in my mind. I would love to know what you think about it! Réka

  5. Our journey is similar – we sold everything to travel too, only we did it at the other end of life, beginning nearly 4 years ago when I was 61 and Don 69.
You are an inspiration to me. You give me not hope, but faith, that the world is in good hands. I’m sure there are many like you, some older, some younger, but we get so little good news that it’s wonderful to come ‘face to face’ with you and people like you, and your family. My faith in humanity, and the power of good in the world is deepened.
    Happy travels,
    Alison

    • dreamtimetraveler says:

Thank you Alison! It takes courage to live your dreams. My Dad says that many people of your generation no longer have the courage to step out of their front door they are so filled with fear. It is not just my generation that holds the future. I believe we are making the future now and together through our experiences and the people we come into contact with, we are sharing this knowledge that there is a much bigger world out there to know. You are an inspiration to us too. Thank you for your really kind words. I will carry them with me in my travels! Reka

  6. Hi Reka!
I just read about your adventures in an article on facebook. Before you go VIRAL (which is going to happen any time now) I just wanted to say that I think what your doing is incredible. I’m currently trying to save up money to go on my own travels and reading about your experiences is such a great motivator! When your book launches, could I get a signed copy? It would mean the world to me! I’m new,but already such a huge fan!
    Safe travels!

    • dreamtimetraveler says:

      Hi Marie,

Your thoughts are wonderful! I wish you the best in your endeavours to save for traveling. Many people think you need so much money. In an article that appeared in the daily mail, so many people are commenting that “we must be millionaires” or “we must have won the lotto”, nothing could be further from the truth! Last year we traveled on the equivalent of a minimum wage income, the four of us. It is about making choices and taking that first leap into the unknown, which I am so grateful to my parents for doing! They have taught me that anything is possible, you just have to take that first step, to start and seek what is meaningful to you. I would happily sign a copy of my book for you Marie when it is published. I am currently seeking an agent and working towards the final round of editing. If you haven’t already signed up for my list on the progress of this journey, you can do so at this link http://www.dawnoftheguardian.instapage.com/ . For this community we will have exclusive and first release content, and updates on my quest to have the book published. My thanks and gratitude to you Marie! Reka

In a year and a half my wife and two girls will be traveling for a year. I want my girls (currently 13 and 11) to read your blog to get some ideas about what they can do during our year away.

    • Hello David,

Thank you for following our journey. I cannot apologise more profusely for such a tardy and late response. I am very happy to speak with your daughters directly and share with them stories and experiences that we have had along the way. I will get in touch with you personally and would be more than happy to be of assistance.

My warmest regards and thanks for your interest,
      Rêka

  15. Kirsty says:

I just read your article in the guardian, you are fantastic and i find your confidence inspiring. Well done to your family for taking the leap. If you don’t mind me asking do your parents work while you are traveling? I am considering taking my family on an adventure and I am keen to get some more information.
Good luck with the book, your writing is fantastic. I’ll have to buy it for my daughters.
    Kind regards
    Kirsty

    • Hi Kristy,

Thank you so much for your kind thoughts. I must apologise that it has taken this long to reply, we had a technical issue and I trust you will forgive me. I am very glad to hear that you are considering embarking on your own journey of discovery together with your family. Your question is one we often get asked and we were considering creating a series of emails that would give people a more comprehensive answer to how you can live, love and learn while traveling the world. Would this be something that would be of interest to you? I would be more than happy to get in touch via email and give you all the answers that would trustfully assist you in your decision making and planning. Thanks again for your well wishes for the book too. You can buy it on Amazon at this link .

      My warmest regards,
      Réka

Thank you for the inspiration <3 let us know if you will be back in Portugal, we would love to know you and your experiences, we could make a little meeting with the homeschooling community, if you where willing to, of course. 🙂

    • Thank you Catia,

That would be wonderful. We loved Portugal and we would love to meet with the homeschooling community there! I am not sure if we can make it this summer as we have a lot to do with promoting my book, which is taking us to the UK and the USA, but perhaps if there was opportunity, we would love to make the trip on our return. Let’s keep in contact and thank you again for all your support. Much love to all there!

I am very impressed with you and I would like to know if you are going on a trip to visit Egypt soon I have the honor to host you

    • Thank you Mahmoud,

We were actually planning on visiting Egypt early next year, but this time round, due to some commitments, we were unable to find enough time to get there. We are very much looking forward to visiting one day when we will not be rushed and can spend the time to immerse ourselves in the warm welcome of the people, places and culture of Egypt. I sincerely want to thank you for your warm and generous offer. I am too am honored by kind thoughts.

My very best to you till then,
      Réka

  19. Anna Puhakka says:

    Dear Reka,

I am an English as a second language teacher from Finland. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your travel blog and was wondering if you would let us use parts of it for a commercial online English study book (Tabletkoulu.fi) for upper secondary school students in Finland? We would always credit you and add a link to your blog so in that way you would get more readers. Your stories could be so inspirational for young Finns!

    Best wishes, Anna

  20. Ania S. says:

Hello Reka 🙂 I have just discovered your blog. I am a teacher from Koluszki, Poland. There is a short text about you and your adventures in English Class , Chapter 6(Pearson) and I use this book with Year 4. I was curious to read more in your blog. I am really amazed! Wow! I also like your writing skills 🙂
We will be studying the chapter next term, maybe February/March. My students would be rapt if you wrote sth to them. Is it possible or you do not have time for that?
All the best for you and your family.
    Ania

  21. Ania s. says:

Lovely! Thank you very much 🙂
Maybe we could send you a photo of our group and receive yours (online, we can print it then if you agree). Do you think me and my Year 4 students could stay in touch with you?
    Are you on Facebook?
    Ania

  22. Marco says:

    Que guay tu viaje!
    Traduce it to Spanish please.

  23. ANNA says:

    Dear Reka,
We are the students from Poland, we are now reading a text about your life in our English handbooks.
We really like your blog. Are planning to visit Poland?
We would also like to know how you travel: in a caravan, a car?
The student want to know how old you are at the moment?
Could you please describe a day of your life as a student-traveller?
Which part of the world is the most exciting in your opinion?

We’re looking forward to your answer,
    Love
    Students, class 4

    • Hello students of Class 4! It is an honour to hear that you have been reading some of my story and finding it interesting to you. 🙂 I have been to Poland but it was a visit that was far too short so I would absolutely love to return and explore more of your beautiful and fascinating country! I have travelled in both an RV (Caravan) and a car, as well as lots of buses, trains and planes! But I really loved travelling in a RV, something about having your house and your car in one is so much fun! 🙂 I am 21 years old at the moment, and a day in my life currently has me at home in Sydney working on the sequel to my fantasy adventure novel: Dawn of the Guardian. I like to go for long walks in between writing and am enjoying being in one place for now, seeing friends and family before embarking on some travel plans a little later in the year. I also read and dance for fun and am also a Surf Life Saver at Bondi Beach, training and swimming in the ocean. I absolutely love history, so any place in the world with old, preserved castles, forts, palaces or ruins are most exciting to me in my opinion. I hope I can offer a little inspiration on your own journeys as students and I hope that you get to travel and explore the world as your own heart desires, no matter the challenges you may face along the way. Continue to feed the smart, curious, kind souls you have inside you, and you won’t go wrong. Sending hugs from Australia! – Réka <3
